From 21 February to 8 March 2022, we held a university-wide online International Women’s Day (IWD) celebration, with the theme “Progress we have made, step by step”. The goal was to highlight the advances made towards gender equality at UTokyo, using a combination of historical media and audio-visual materials from current students and researchers.

The two methods were: from 21 February to 7 March, publish posts on social media (links below) to convey the existence and importance at UTokyo of IWD; and on 8 March, release two short videos to encourage female researchers to take their next steps towards the future.

In preparation, we conducted a survey on awareness of IWD among UTokyo members.
